LEO #11 He is Now 4

OK - I cannot tell you how excited I was when Work in Progress had Sassafras lass in the October kit!! First off - Trish is just the best and Jamie is on the Design team - do I need to say anymore about WIP?? Add not only Sassafras lass, but MONSTERS no less and then throw in a birthday for the cutest, sweetest 4 year old I know and yes - I am in my glory!!

LEO #11 was my challenge - Sew Sew Pretty - you had to sew n a layout - machine sew, hand stitch, rub ons or draw the stitches - whatever you please! I machine stitched around the circle and on a piece of red satin ribbon to make the gathered bit at the top.
Here it is!This is all WIP too - I only added the red satin ribbon, the prima pebble and the bling. Go Trish!

Kelly and a Card!

Good morning friends!

Happy Sunday. What a beautiful morning here in Sunny Florida. I was up early again this morning - today is my bestie's birthday party. She was 40 on the 16th, but today is the celebration. I made 32 cupcakes this morning. They are cooling and waiting to be frosted. I made scrappy bits for the top so I will show you pics tomorrow. I also did her birthday card this morning. used anotehr new Jessica Lynn stamp - ok - if you were not in love with Brentwood from previous pics - check out how stinkin cute this stamp is!!I am sure you are being polite about the card, but really want to see this:Miss Kelly's fantastic album!! I have more than 3/4 done on mine. I will be finishing it tonight or tomorrow depending on the party. OK - I have to tell you - I was not as excited about the album as meeting Kelly. I think she is really talented, but let me tell you how stinkin cute the album is! I also learned some great tricks and tips yesterday. It was fun. I have to tell you that Kelly is as sweet as you can imagine. She is very open and chatty. The time FLEW by because she was so enjoyable. Anotehr thing about her - she has an innate ability to make everyone in the room feel special. She moves about and converses individually with every person. What a fantastic marketing representative for basic grey! I have been to other classes - one in particular - the instructor was a very well known scrapper and face for a manufacturer - she was really nice, but seemed really shy. Not Kelly - she is your best friend before you get to page three! Here she is with the awesome album:
And me and my new best friend - although I think I was up to page 6 when we took this picture.
And this is Valerie and Kelly - anotehr bestie - she is the reason I scrapbook. I refused for a year but she kept at me - telling me I would love it. Knowing my compulsive personality - I resisted as long as I could. But in the end - she won and I am hooked - as you all know! My Valerie!

Woo Hoo Kelly Goree Class Saturday!

Good morning!
I have been up since 4am - excited for the class and I also wanted to get LEO #9 done. I ended up scrapping LEO #9 and LEO #10 and a card for a challenge at Treasured Scrapbooking. So here you go!

LEO #9 - Scraplift a Layout from a Sponsor Gallery! I selected a layout from the Scrapbook Sussies September Gallery. I selected Zoa Barker's Grow Layout.
LEO #10 was to do a then and now sequence layout. I started lifting a layout from Zany Zinnia for LEO#9 but realized the pics were perfect for #10. Check out Stacy's layout. Finally - this card was created for a Treasured Scrapbooking September Challenge Bee Happy.
This awesome Brentwood Stamp comes from Jessica Lynn Originals.
OK - that's it - sorry for the bombardment - I will be sure to give you a recap of our fun class tomorrow!

LEO #8 - Boy With a Curl and some news!!

Well ladies- the results are in for the Treasured Scrapbooking Treasured Hunt 2009 - I am still blown away that I was selected for second place. The talent was incredible and the winner Jodi created an incredible layout with so much detail that it should be framed. I wish her much congratulations for a well deserved first place! Rita also brought her game! The level of detail in her stamping and touching journaling was so inspiring. I look forward to trying out some new stamp techniques based on her awesome final project!! Leslie and the Treasured Scrapbooking design team deserve kudos for sponsoring, creating and (holy smkokes) judging this very fun contest! I so enjoyed playing along and pushing myself. Taking the time to enjoy the process and expressing myself with paper, cardboard and scissors!!

I love the layout I did for LEO #8 beacuse of the subject. Jamie has the prettiest blond curls! I don't ever want to forget them so I took a few pics of them on his birthday - knowing I would be scrapbooking them so we can remember them forever!

Last night, Pam and I taught our first CCD class for our church, Saint Katherine Drexel. We have a fifth grade class. Just two students right now, but I am sure that will grow as teh regestrations continue. It was really humbling for me. My heart is so full. I am fearful I will not be able to successfully share the word with the kids. A perfect example of a time to turn to God for the right words, the proper message and total willingness to serve.

Tomorrow is my class with Kelly Goree!! Wahoo - I promise to tell you all about it and share pics when I get home!!

I am so excited because my Work In Progress kits will be here today - I love tracking numbers!!!!!!!

Umm...Kudos to Jamie girl!! Of course - the box was nto checked - haha! IS that new???
Enjoy your Friday!!

Life is God's Novel...Let Him Write It

I have wanted to do a monochromatic layout for awhile. It happens that it was a challenge at Treasured Scrapbooking so I made this yesterday. My Bestie's birthday is Wednesday and I am going to give this to her as one of her presents. I used a piece of stripped cardboard for the base = then gesso'd it so it would be white. I added a piece of KI Memories sheers over the cardboard.
The white poinsettas on the left are from Michaels. I made a lace bow for the center. Added some Prima Jewels below it and a wooden Prima flower to the center of the bow. Then took a Prima packaging sheet - gesso'd it and covered it with Martha Stewart Glitter. That is used for the journaling base. In the right corner is a Heidi Swapp decal. I added some more Prima flowers and then Heidi Swapp chipboard letters and American Craft silver thickers to complete the quote.

New Cards - Did some coloring!

Holy canneloni! I found a new love - his name is Brentwood! How stinkin cute is this stamp!! I got him from Jessica Lynn Originals. Check out her blog for some serious card inspo! I colored himi with my PrisamColor Markers. Cut him oout - mounted him on a cardboard circle, added a few rub ons to his belly (he liked it - purred like Roxy does) and there we go!
And here he is with some JilliBean Soup! And the last one is another JilliBean Soup card too.

Treasure Hunt Final Round Layout!!

This is it girls - the end of the contest. I finished my layout and posted it. I thought I would share with you guys. The Challenge
Layout must include:
- one photo or no photo
- TS colors must be included somewhere in the layout (orange and green) (you may use other colors in addition)
- 2 different kinds of alphabet in your title
- 5 buttons exactly
- some kind of ticket (scrapbooking or real)
- journaling including the words "If I could change one thing about myself..." I had such a good time playing with some different techniques. I cut a big piece of cardboard from a shipping box and stripped it. Then I gesso'd it and painted and misted it!
I adore this cherub stamp and was so happy to include it on the layout.Journaling:
If I could change one thing about myself it would be to…
Get rid of the fear.
Be brave. Be real.
Share my thoughts unguarded.
Be a model of confidence.
Stop worrying and LIVE!
Trust in the Lord.Supplies

But looking deep for emotion and exploring me is not at the top of my list usually. No matter what happens next week - I already feel like a winner, because these layouts would never have been created if I didn't participate. So I already have a pretty cool gift.

LEO #4 - Family Time

First let me start by saying that I had a fantastic time on Sunday with the apple of my eye! We celebrated his 4th birthday with a party. His real birthday is 09-09-09. :) This is not the greatest picture, but it means the world to me because I went over a few hours before the party started. Let me share that this boy is OBSESSED by Thomas the train!!! So I bought him a new outfit with Thomas on it for his birthday. His mama washed it and it was all ready to wear when I got there. He had not seen it so I was able to surprise him with it and get him ready for the party. Now - this is the ONLY almost 4 year old that I know that gets excited about clothes. OK - only Thomas clothes. He selects his outfit each morning and gets himself dressed. He was super excited about the new Thomas overall shorts and shirt. Sorry - back to the picture. After we got him dressed and did his hair (yes - it is gelled just like his aunties :)) He was sitting on my lap talking about his party and I reached out and took this picture of us myself. The actual pic is horrible - way too dark so I photoshopped it and changed it to black and white. This is what we ended up with. Over the next few weeks you will see much better shots of his party through my layouts and posts - but this picture will always mean the most to me because of the moment it captured. I have said it before and you will hear it again - this little man owns my heart!!
Here is my LEO #4 - scrap an old pic - these pics are from May 2008. We went to dinner after Spencer's hockey game. I love the warmth in the pictures (color) with this graphic 45 paper. Of course - besides cardboard I am obsessed with thick ribbon and love wrapping the layout up like a package!
